2014 FOALS - three amazing fillies !!

After taking the decision not to cover my mares since the 2011 arrivals, I covered all three in 2013 as the unique opportunity arose to use the superb palomino and white stallion BIRCHWOOD GOLD TOP, a top class little stallion from the original Birchwood bloodlines, which all my mares derive from, and are so sought after. An opportunity not to be missed and dear Little Gold Top gave me three wonderful fillies in 2014.

2011 Foals - Two Fantastic, very different Fillies

Both of these Exceptional Fillies have been at present retained - (both too good to part with !!)

No foals are due in 2012 as I took the decision not to cover any of my mares in the present economic climate

Both of these fillies are by the stunning dark bay skewbald stallion Mardlebrook Kernel and out of outstanding multi champion classic original 'Birchwood' mares by Little Jo of Greenmeadows - both foals are exceptional.

The chestnut skewbald is out of Birchwood Smallprint (Little Jo of Greenmeadows/Birchwood Biscuit) and the dam of the dark bay skewbald is Birchwood Shamrock (Little Jo of Greenmeadows/Bainden Belinda).

The dilemma is, I can only keep one of them but at the moment I am having serious trouble deciding which! They are so different but exceptional fillies.

Holly's baby 1 day old

WOW !! Holly never lets us down and she has done it again, - this baby will be a STAR !

His illustrious sire is the multi Champion piebald stallion KERSWELL SOCKS out of our own dear DONABI HOLLY, herself a County Show winner, and dam of many outstanding foals including my 2 year old Palomino Filly, DONABI RAMANI, winner of the 2009 Devon County Show Yearling class.
We are so excited about this colt, he has the colour, the markings, the bone, the quality and the temperament to be an outstanding stallion prospect.

He has inherited his attractive markings from Holly's dam BERNSLEY ANNABEL, who my mother showed with huge success at the highest level, winning many Championships, and an appearance at the Horse of the Year Show.

This lovely little chestnut colt is the tiny, typey foal with quality and bone we have come to expect out of our multi champion/County Show Champion mare Birchwood Smallprint. He too is sired by the cream & white stallion Athelney Pale Magic. Smallprint's foals are always outstanding with her last two colt foals being sold as future stallions, one in the UK and last year's palomino colt, to Germany. This little man looks to have the same qualities for the making of an excellent stallion prospect.

This unusally marked eye catching filly is out of our other multi champion and County Show winning mare Birchwood Shamrock. She has inherited her mothers wonderful dished head, has plenty of bone and correct conformation. This exceptional filly is a must for discerning Miniature Shetland enthusiasts who are looking for an outstanding show ring prospect, and future broodmare, with her 'royal mix' of Birchwood and Kerswell/Athelney bloodlines

Her sire is the cream & white stallion Athelney Pale Magic.

This adorable little palomino colt foal is yet another example of the classic combination of Kerswell and Birchwood bloodlines. His sire is the palomino stallion Kerswell Dangermouse and his dam is our County Show and multi champion mare, Birchwood Smallprint . He is tiny, typey, a gorgeous colour with quality and bone, and looks likely to mature in the same height range as his 29" dam. He is very affectionate, with a lovely temperament, and is handled daily by my four year old daughter

If you would like a small, potential future champion stallion, this exceptional colt will be for sale at weaning.
